PROJECTS
The OU Listening Project brings together a diverse range of oral history initiatives, each capturing unique stories from communities in Oklahoma. From documenting the experiences of Outdoor Adventure participants, to preserving the narratives of Women in Engineering or of MAGA-supporting Oklahoma youth, each project serves as a vital thread in the tapestry of our shared history. Dive into these compelling stories and discover how they contribute to a richer understanding of our collective past and present.

Dr. Prichard's second book project uses a well-publicized U.S. federal legal case to examine the history and effects of what scholars have termed the “orphan industrial complex.” Interviews will be available at the time of the book's publication.

Hearing Vietnamese Voices
Developed by Dr. David Song and FYRE student Brayden Hughes, this project aims to capture and preserve the stories of the Vietnamese Americans who have taken up residency in the state of Oklahoma. Histories from this project will be published in Spring 2026.

Grounded Connections: African Diaspora and Community-Led Change
A project assisted by OU senior Bethany Sseruwagi, this oral history project explores how African expatriates organize and drive informal, community-led humanitarian efforts across borders. The project is ongoing and interviews and transcriptions will be published as soon as they are available.
